Deader Than A Door Nail

February 14th, 2009 Posted in Games | No Comments »

So this is the winter of our discount tent.  The group still communicates although the frequency is admittedly much less than it used to be.

We wait impatiently for a game to reunite us and reignite the passion we all share for gaming.

WRU D3?

Welcome to 2009

January 5th, 2009 Posted in Games | No Comments »

So with 2009 already upon us, yet again we look back on 2008.  The year started with fevered interest in podcasting.  The group has a few successful podcasts and then all momentum was lost.

As is de rigeur for this group, we jumped from game to game to game and over time the group became somewhat fractured.  Everyone still hangs out on Ventrilo however we seem to be in more and more channels.  I should clarify that we has come to exclude Smitty.  Oh no, the crack-like addiction to World of Warcraft remains strong with that one.  We hope some day he will come back into the light but until that fateful day we wish our lost comrade well.

A few new folks came into the fold in 2008 as we explored and played new games and saw increased interest in different genres.  I expect 2009 will feature more of the same with the group continuing to game at their own respective paces.

Let’s hope for a new game on the horizon that rallies the troops and brings everyone together.  Let’s hope for the release of Diablo 3.

IJSMP Podcast Logo

In an amazing twist, we decided to record another podcast.  Our legions of fan demanded it.

In this episode the boys from Wisconsin are still reeling from their superstar quarterback getting traded.  This podcast was recorded while playing TF2.  We thought the dialogue might flow better while shooting people in the face.

You can download it here.

IJSMP Podcast Logo In which our heroes discuss “legacyshitting” by Brett Favre, the sad Chinese Olympics, and the even sadder state of MMOs today.

The fifth IJSMP podcast in the series is here!  Recorded on 23 April 2008 it’s only taken us about three months to post this bad boy.  That is just how much awesome exists here.  It needed to age a bit to take the acidity out.  Like a fine wine.  Or whine.

Whatever, shut up and listen.

Age of Conan, Call of Duty 4 Patch

June 10th, 2008 Posted in Games | No Comments »

A small cadre of the group has migrated to Age of Conan creating a guild called Rage of the Fallen.  While I’m not able to play the game, it sounds like a blast.  World PvP sounds like the greatest thing and the worst thing at the same time.  I think as long as your attitude is properly calibrated it can be a lot of fun.

Call of Duty finally released a patch with four new maps that have some mixed reviews.  I expect the group to check those out in the coming week — even with the fine summer weather.

IJSMP Podcast LogoShattering all expectations and hope, IJSMP has taken only two weeks to post their third podcast.  This was a social experiment to determine how the group responded to a lower organizational coefficient.  The group continues to debate steps to improve organization and overall program flow however don’t let the rough areas intimidate you — this is another free form discussion by our Fearless Leader Smitty and his gang of rag tag rebels.

IJSMP Podcast #2

IJSMP Podcast Logo In what can only be described as a shocking turn of events, IJSMP have completed their second podcast for your auditory enjoyment.

As this is a learning process, our After Action Review lead the team to realize that perhaps we had too many contributors on this one. Our third podcast will feature fewer members contributing in a more active fashion.

But never despair, there are many highlights and nuggets on this one, too. Enjoy!
