Its not the Heat, its the HEAT!!!!

Filed under: Life — Jehoshaphat @ 8:43 am

So, for once I was able to watch the rest of the country burn to death in summer heat and I could actually say it wasnt hot in Jacksonville. Well, the glory days have returned…110 degrees today. Now its true that this city was built on top of a swamp, but the days where the heat index pushes into the 110’s, it truly feels like a swamp. The bugs are everywhere, the humidity makes the air feel solid and you start to sweat the second you leave the air conditioning. Theres this crazy chick in the office who is trying to condition her body to the heat by turning off the air conditioning and spending alot of time outside. Crazy bitch…

I know when I ask Firethorn and Smitty5k if they wanted to try out Civilization 3 that its was going to be a long exercise. First, Smitty has no clue what Civ is, and while I didnt mind teaching him what I know about the game, I think the length of the games and the turns will turn him off to the game. And getting Firthorn to sit down and play a game for 4 hours straight is liking trying to get my cat to listen to me. I created two maps, one for 2 human players and one for 3 human players, but Firethorn was unable to burn the original Civ disk for Smitty and Firethorn didnt have the time to play last night. Hopefully we can play some this weekend.

Instead of playing Civ3, which I was down about, we practiced the COD map against TD. The only bad thing was we played 6 on 4 and then 5 on 4. We didnt do horrible, but we did lose, which wasnt surpising playing a man or two down. MP_Streets is one of the harder maps. Hopefully we can pick it up for the match this week.

Boo-YA?!? Matthew.

I have a large blog update detailing the last month in quene which I’m working on but I’m feeling the pressure from the peanut gallery to put a blog post up, so here it is. The wedding was great, the honeymoon was great, and things are slowly returning to normal.

I decided last night that I need to try and get my PSP to run emulators. Back in the day, I downloaded a fairly large collection of ROMS for the SNES and NES. Now its hard to find the time to play those when you have modern games sitting right in front of you on your PC calling your name. But it would be cool to play them on the PSP considering theres not alot of games out right now. So I decide to try my hand at it.

What I found was a very EASY process. Basically your PSP needs to be firmware 1.5 or lower. Then you download an emulator to your PC, then download a swap exploit to your PC. You connect the PSP to the PC, launch the exploit app. It asks for the PSP drive letter and the location of the emulator, and BOO-YA, you got a emulator on the memory card. Easy…really easy, like Sony left it there for you. Kinda strange.

So now I have Link to the Past, Mario Brothers, FF3, Mario RPG and couple other games installed, and its time to find my 1GB of ROMs and pick a couple and remember the good old days. Hopefully, Sony will continue to delay the 2.0 firmware patch, which is schedule to be release in Japan next week, but no US date has been given.

BOO-YA! Matthew.
